THE CHARACTERISTICS SERVANT OF GOD IN THE QUR`ĀN

The Characteristics Servant of God in the Qur`ān
and  Implications toward the Development of Islāmic Education
( Study Tafsīr Q.S. Al-Furqān verses 63-70)


This globalization era presented variety of demands for changes in every pattern of behavior that caused threats and challenges that have to be faced. In this case, education has a significant role to respond the threats and challenges. Hopefully, it can be motivator, dynamist, and filter to improve the quality of life and character of the nation. Al-Qur ‘an is the source of Islāmic education, since it has absolute values ​​derived from Allah SWT. Suroh Al-Furqān verses 63-70 is a part of Al-Qur`ān that describe the characteristics of the Servant of God and The implications toward the Development of Islāmic Education.
Starting from the background above, the problems that were observed can be formulated as: (1) What the characteristics of the Servant of God stated in the Qur'an Al-Furqān verses 63-70 are, and (2) The implications of Al-Furqān verses 63-70 toward the Development of Islāmic Education. This study used qualitative approach and method tafsīr mauḍū`ī. The researcher attempted to explain the solutions based on the data by presenting, analyzing and interpreting the data comparatively and correlatively.

Literature method (Library Research) was used as the technique of data collection in this study. The main data used by the researcher are Tafsīr Al-Misbah, Translation of Tafsīr Fidilalil Qur'ān, Translation of Terjemah Tafsīr  Al-Qurțubī, Translation of Tafsīr  Al-Aiśar and Translation of Tafsīr Ibnu Kaśir. While the supporting data were obtained from several books and internet media that were relevant to the research study. The data processing dilālah lafẕi and munāsabah.
The findings revealed that the characteristics of the Servant of God in the Qur'an Al-Furqān verses 63-70 are: (1) Tawaḍu, (2) Praying Qiyāmul Laīl, (3) Praying, (4) Not to be Wasteful, (5) Not to be Stingy, (6) No idolatrous (7 ) Do not Kill; (8) Do not commit adultery; (9) Repentance. Those nine characteristics of the Servant of God in Al-Furqān[25] verses 63-70 can be implied to the development of Islāmic education by getting explanation or concrete operationalization of the content of Al-Qur`ān and As-Sunnah applied in our life.
